With mindfulness, we learn to be more aware of those moments of fun and joy in our life, to really notice them and take them in. This practice is called “catching joy”. It is really important to pay attention to the sensations in your body when you are joyful, as it helps to take in the positive more fully and saving it in your brain. We should try to stay with the positive experience for at least 5 to 10 breaths, or 10 to 30 seconds, in order for the good feelings to really sink in.
