This practice is about developing warm kind feelings towards oneself, feeling that we have our own back, we are here for ourselves no matter what happens to us, like a good friend would be. It helps to build self-esteem and resilience.
This is not always easy to do because we are not used to doing this for ourselves. Don’t worry if it feels a bit weird or if you can’t feel anything, it is a practice and it takes time.
